Ripples Coaching - how it began (and a bit about me)
A true story: As I stood on a beautiful beach in Cornwall - the sun was glistening on the large rock pools which were covering the sandy shores. I stood, barefoot at the edge of one of the pools. The water was warm, still and crystal clear, it looked like glass.
I pick up a pebble and throw it into the centre of the pool.
Just one, small pebble.
Just one ‘plop’ into the water creates small circular waves. Initially the circles are small but I watch as the momentum grows, the ripples get bigger and bigger until they are reaching the edge of the pool, right up to my toes.
Energy is transferred from the initial disturbance caused by the single pebble. The initial ‘plop’ was in the middle of the pool of water but its effects have transferred to the waters edge.
It all starts with ‘just one, small pebble’ - this is your first step towards working towards what you want.
That initial disturbance creates ripples.
ripples of confidence,
ripples of consistency
ripples, providing you with evidence of your capabilities.
Until they reach your goal at the waters edge. As momentum grows, so do you… you might even decide that you want to throw another pebble.
This is how Ripples Coaching was created.
As a neurodivergent adult (who has only become aware of this later in life) I know what it is like to feel like you don’t fit in - even if to the outside world you are the life and soul of the party and always surrounded by people, this can in fact, increases the feeling of being an ‘imposter'‘ and can lead to more self doubt/questioning about who you really are. I know what it feels like when it seems that you are playing a game where everyone else knows the rules but you have had to work it out as you go along. Then just when you think you have understood and know how to play, the game changes and you are left (once again) without the rule book… feeling like you have to work it all out again.
This sounds tiring, doesn’t it? It can be… but it is also awesome. Knowing how my brain works and being understanding of that has been a game-changer, if you pardon the pun.
If this sounds like you, please do get in touch.
I get it, and would love to help.
Obviously you don’t have to be neurodivergent to work with me, I have got 45 years of practice of talking to neurotypicals too :)
